Carole
Macklin Carole
Macklin is a Professor of Marketing at the University of Cincinnati where
she has been a faculty member since 1980. She earned her Ph.D. in 1981
from Ohio State. She has published widely on the topic of advertising
to children. Her work has appeared in leading academic journals including
Journal of Advertising, Journal of Consumer Research, Journal
of Advertising Research, and Psychology and Marketing. Carole
is the co-editor (with Les Carlson) of Advertising to Children: Concepts
and Controversies, published by Sage, Publications, Inc. in 1999.
Carole Macklin is the 1999 President of the American Academy of Advertising,
having previously served as its Treasurer and Vice President. During 1996-1997,
she also served as President of the Society for Consumer Psychology. She
is a member of several other review boards including Journal of Advertising,
Journal of Consumer Psychology, Journal of Current Issues &
Research in Advertising, and Advertising & Marketing to Children.
