Shintaro Okazaki is an Associate Professor in the College of Economics and Business Administration, Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (Spain), from which he obtained his Ph.D. in Marketing. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Aoyama Gakuin University (Japan), an MBA from Oregon State University.
Dr. Okazaki’s primary research agenda focuses on the cross-cultural issues in consumer behavior and marketing communications, mobile commerce, electronic word-of-mouth, and information privacy concerns. His work has appeared in a number of leading journals in advertising and marketing, including Journal of Advertising, Journal of Advertising Research, International Journal of Advertising, Journal of Marketing Communications, Journal of International Marketing, Journal of Business Research, Journal of World Business, European Journal of Marketing, International Marketing Review, International Journal of Market Research, and Psychology & Marketing. He serves on the editorial boards of Journal of Advertising, International Journal of Advertising, Journal of Marketing Communications, Journal of Public Policy & Marketing, Internet Research, and Electronic Markets, among others.
Dr. Okazaki is also on the Executive Board of the European Advertising Academy and on the Council of the Japan Academy of Advertising. He has been an active member in several other academic organizations, including the American Academy of Advertising, the European Marketing Academy, the Academy of Marketing Science, and the Spanish Marketing Association.
